<h3>Deine Position</h3>
<p>As a <strong>Data Engineer</strong>, you will play a key role in our <strong>App Team</strong>, acting as the go-to expert for energy telemetry data and pricing logic. This is a <strong>cross-functional, hands-on role</strong> with a strong emphasis on <strong>stakeholder communication</strong>, <strong>data ownership</strong>, and <strong>pipeline development</strong>.<br/><br/>Your responsibilities will include:<br/><ul><li><strong>Own and evolve our SQLMesh pipelines</strong> for data transformations across the app’s telemetry and pricing logic</li><li>Build and maintain robust <strong>Python-based data ingestion pipelines</strong> for new and existing external data sources</li><li>Maintain and evolve (GCP) <strong>cloud-native data infrastructure</strong>, ensuring performance and high availability in production</li><li>Work closely with Product, Design, and other Engineering teams to define and deliver <strong>data that powers user-facing features,</strong> including price calculations, earnings, and savings</li><li>Be the subject matter expert on <strong>telemetry data</strong> and <strong>energy price modeling</strong>, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and scalability</li><li><strong>Develop and maintain Looker dashboards</strong> for analytics, monitoring, and tracking key metrics for internal teams</li><li>Ensure that <strong>telemetry measurements</strong> and <strong>price data</strong> are consistently available in the app, even under high load or during incidents</li><li>Build and monitor <strong>CI/CD pipelines</strong> (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions) for reliable deployment of data products</li><li>Design, implement, and monitor <strong>data quality checks</strong> to proactively catch and resolve issues</li><li>Collaborate regularly with stakeholders across departments to investigate bugs, support rollouts, and inform product decisions</li><li>Define and own key team <strong>KPIs</strong> and work proactively to improve them</li></ul></p>
<h3>Dein Profil</h3>
<p>We are looking for someone who loves both <strong>data and people,</strong> someone who can dive deep into pipelines and systems but is equally comfortable explaining complex concepts to stakeholders. You are proactive, thoughtful, and passionate about building solutions that matter.<br/><br/>Here’s what we’re looking for:<br/><ul><li>Degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related technical field (BSc or MSc)</li><li>Solid professional experience with:<ul><li><strong>Python</strong> (for building data pipelines)</li><li><strong>SQLMesh</strong> (or equivalent transformation tools)</li><li><strong>Google Cloud Platform</strong> (especially Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, BigQuery)</li><li><strong>Looker</strong> (or similar BI tools)</li></ul></li><li>Proven track record designing, building and maintaining scalable <strong>end-to-end data pipelines</strong> that ingest data from external APIs and enable <strong>efficient, accessible storage and retrieval</strong> for both internal services and stakeholders</li><li>Experience working with <strong>energy data</strong> is a strong plus</li><li>Confident working in <strong>CI/CD environments</strong> (e.g., GitLab CI, GitHub Actions)</li><li>Proficient with <strong>Docker and Kubernetes</strong></li><li>Strong communication skills: you're able to explain data intricacies clearly and collaborate with both technical and non-technical colleagues</li><li>High level of ownership and accountability; you see challenges through to the end</li><li>Fluent in English (German is a plus)</li></ul></p>
