Collins Aerospace ISR & Space Systems, is searching for energetic and highly motivated candidates for its new opening  Senior Manufacturing Planning Manager Space Systems at their Windsor Locks CT location.

This role will manage team of both experienced professionals and team leaders and owns the execution of long-term planning strategy.  Additionally they will provide leadership, coaching, and training for team.

The selected candidate will be a member of the Operations team, completing tasks ranging from requirements planning through the manufacturing and shipment of deliverables in support of NASA and DoD Programs. Candidates must exhibit a high degree of initiative and sound judgment, working independently and as a member of an Integrated Product Team. It is essential the successful candidate be capable of adapting to changing conditions and work cooperatively in a team environment.

This is an ONSITE position that will be located in Windsor Locks CT.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Implements plans and prepares data for purchased parts, subassemblies, end items and other parts as required
  • Providing daily, weekly and monthly production analysis for comparing the forecast to the capacity model
  • Responsible for the implementation of the capacity management process, including identification of capacity gaps to ensure successful execution of customer demands in support of SIOP
  • Executes continuous management for the master demand schedule, including adherence to required validations using the best information available
  • Working in conjunction with the operational managers to schedule in the most cost effective way to drive overall operational efficiency
  • Responsible for production control activities such as material planning and production scheduling
  • Manages the transportation and delivery of outbound finished products.  Supports the work transfer process as required
  • Manages in process (WIP), promise dating, and expedite orders to ensure on-time delivery and flow
  • Accountable for inventory to include forecasting, accuracy (cycle counting), vender managed inventory coordination, safety stock levels, lean plan for every part.
  • Responsible for the implementation of plans to minimize risks for shortages and ensures successful customer delivery
  • Planning production teams’ daily activities, overseeing and supervising production staff
  • Must be highly skilled with the SAP MRP system
  • Experienced leader with SAP at the user and managerial levels to include reports, troubleshooting, error codes, material masters, advanced planning optimizer, lead time scheduling, etc.
  • Coordinates SAP MRP knowledge, training, and system enhancements

Qualifications/ Experience Needed:

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access the financial management system due to government contractual requirements
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience
  • Must be highly skilled with SAP MRP system

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior relevant experience to include Production Planning, Operations and/or Project Management
  • Demonstrated experience leading and managing a successful team to include: scheduling, ordering, quality control, and production of all phases of the project
  • Strong ability and experience managing/overseeing multiple projects
  • Solid working knowledge and experience with manufacturing, engineering and office/lab facility operations
  • Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project
