Program Director, Global Landscape Mapping

Summary: 

 The Child Mind Institute (CMI) is seeking a Program Director for the Global Landscape Mapping Initiative being launched within the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) Global Center for Child and Adolescent Mental Health (CAMH) at the Child Mind Institute (SNF-CMI GC). The Program Director will oversee and implement mapping the landscape for child and adolescent mental health care knowledge, resources, needs, and current efforts around the globe. 

Established through a generous $55 million grant from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation, the SNF-CMI GC will be a unique, exciting, multifaceted program that will require creativity, imagination, and energy to build novel opportunities, technologies, and services, with the possibility of a vast impact on and transforming child and adolescent mental health. The aim of the Global Landscape Mapping Initiative is to procure new data and curated databases to support mental health-focused efforts to develop new knowledge and resources and accelerate the pace of discovery and advancement to improve the lives of children and adolescents. The Initiative will require creativity, imagination, and energy to develop, evaluate, and implement a range of research and clinical projects over 5 years. 

In alignment with the overall operations and strategy of the SNF-CMI GC, the Program Director will have overall responsibility for developing operational strategies and administrative systems required to ensure the short and long-term success of the Initiative. This includes oversight of strategic planning, operations, compliance and processes, employee engagement, finances, and outcome quality. The Program Director will perform and supervise a systematic review of the CAMH landscape in target countries, beginning with Brazil and South Africa; design, conduct, and maintain an expanding multi-national child and adolescent mental health survey in a representative, international sample, assessing the needs of multiple stakeholders; build and curate open databases on child and adolescent mental health; and build a stakeholder registry to facilitate connections between clinicians, civil society organizations, and researchers. This position provides the opportunity to engage with a broad range of clinicians, policy-makers, researchers, and community leaders.

The Program Director must have leadership experience and the ability to multitask in a high-energy environment. This position will involve periodic international travel. 

Reporting to the Program Director of the SNF-CMI GC, this is an exempt, full-time position located in our NYC headquarters office. A hybrid schedule is possible.

Responsibilities: 

• Direct and coordinate the day-to-day work of the Global Landscape Mapping Initiative’s team members by creating and managing project timelines and plans, preparing internal team and CMI-GC documents as required, and authoring reports for Executives that provide updates on the Initiative’s progress. 
• Implement and facilitate project operations aligned with the overall operations and strategy of the SNF-CMI-GC, including review of program operating procedures, ensuring on-going quality improvement, development and forecasting of project budgets across the Initiative, and identification of other resource needs.
• In collaboration with the CMI Contracts Office, create and complete contracts and/or memoranda of understanding (MOUs) with relevant parties engaged with the Initiative.
• Actively manage and escalate issues related to meeting programmatic and project milestones, and proactively identify alternative ways to develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with Human Resources to manage all staffing related matters such as hiring, evaluations, promotions, disciplinary actions, trainings, etc. 
• Assist with establishing new online resources (registry, database, etc.), including implementing plans, participating in digital planning, hiring of staff, arranging service vendors, and assisting in designing new participant recruitment efforts.
• Facilitate communication and information sharing across the Initiative’s teams and across the CMI-GC by developing, preparing, and distributing communications, meeting minutes, presentations, and other materials as needed to ensure communication objectives are met.
