This is a long-term temporary assignment.
Job Duties:
The Temporary IT Business Systems Analyst supports data cleanup initiatives managed by the Business Technology Services Division (BTSD) for the NDOT Operations Division. The primary focus of this role is the analysis, cleanup, and standardization of data within our enterprise systems, ensuring data integrity and consistency.
Core responsibilities include:
Collaborating with the Data Warehouse team and developers to design, execute, and refine data queries.
Identifying data inconsistencies, anomalies, and naming convention discrepancies.
Developing and implementing automated data correction processes and validation checks.
Creating clear documentation on data standards, processes, and correction methodologies.
Performing ad-hoc data analysis and reporting as requested.
Assisting in system testing, validation, and troubleshooting related to data accuracy.
Performing other duties as assigned.
Requirements / Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications: Post high school coursework, training, or experience in the analysis of business processes and system requirements, and the creation of business process applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience in data cleansing, data validation, and working with relational databases.
Proven ability to write queries and scripts to identify and correct data quality issues.
Familiarity with data warehousing concepts, data normalization techniques, and standardization practices.
Experience working with enterprise systems, particularly within public-sector environments (e.g., Enterprise Asset Management Systems (EAMS))
Other:
Must have a valid driver’s license or ability to provide independent authorized transportation.
Occasional scheduled overnight travel may be required.
Regular and reliable attendance is mandatory.
