About the role

As a member of SWORPS' Field Based Services, this position reports to the division's Director. The Access & Visitation Program Coordinator provides subject matter expertise and oversees the development, implementation, and management of a brand new SWORPS initiative that aims to increase parent/child visitation for "never married" and divorced parents across Tennessee. This role focuses on ensuring noncustodial parents have access to their children while promoting healthy co-parenting relationships. The Program Coordinator will work collaboratively with community partners, courts, and child support agents, as well as directly with parents seeking services to meet the needs of Access & Visitation Program participants, including custodial parents and children. The coordinator will also provide information and referrals to connect parents with local mediation, supervised visitation, and other relevant support services. Requires the need for flexible schedules.

The Access and Visitation Program Coordinator responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: 

  • Program Management:
    • Implementing program activities and short-term planning for all program operations. 
    • Develop and implement access and visitation services across Tennessee, including direct provision of supervised visitation, mediation, parenting education, and conflict resolution. 
    • Ensure compliance with state and federal guidelines related to access and visitation services. 
    • Coordinate program logistics, including scheduling, resource allocation, and service delivery. 
  • Stakeholder engagement 
    • Utilize an existing network of community partners—including courts, legal professionals, community organizations, and service providers—to build and maintain collaborative relationships, promote program services and recruit participant referrals. 
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders involved in access and visitation initiatives. 
  • Service Delivery Oversight:
    • Monitor the delivery of services such as supervised visitation, mediation, parenting education, and Conflict resolution. 
    • Monitor program outcomes to ensure effectiveness in improving family relationships. 
  • Data Collection & Reporting:
    • Collect, analyze, and report program data to evaluate success and identify areas for improvement. 
    • Prepare reports and present to funding agencies, stakeholders, and internal leadership. 
  • Training & Development: 
    • Provide training to staff and volunteers on best practices in access and visitation services. Develop flyers and other outreach materials to explain how participants can access services, and educate community partners on how to make referrals.
    • Create resources and presentations on parent/child visitation to support parent workshops. 
    • Distribute information to partners through email, virtual meetings, and in-person outreach, as appropriate. 
    • Stay informed about trends in family law, child welfare, and co-parenting strategies to enhance program quality. 
  • Other duties as assigned to support the goals of the program/organization.

Required Qualifications: 

  • Education: 
    • Bachelor’s degrees in social work or related Field
    • Must have a valid driver's license, automobile at their disposal and a current automobile liability policy with continuous coverage 
  • Experience: 
    • 3 to 5 years’ experience in program management, leading activities engaging and supporting diverse stakeholders 
    • 3 to 5 years’ experience in social service program delivery utilizing evidence-based approach, public assistance (TANF) program, or child support 
  • Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: 
    • Possesses subject matter expertise in child support, non-custodial parents, family and child wellbeing, and domestic violence. Skilled in mediation and conflict resolution, with the ability to facilitate meetings, coordinate groups, and deliver targeted training to diverse stakeholders. Strong research, analysis, and synthesis skills tailored to various audiences, complemented by excellent oral and written communication. Highly organized and adaptable, capable of managing multiple tasks, working independently or collaboratively, and engaging effectively with diverse populations and partners. Proficient in Microsoft Office and responsive to evolving project needs
