POSITION SUMMARY:

This position plays a major role in ensuring the smooth operation of the Office of Human Resources (OHR). This position serves as the primary back up for the OHR reception and staff. You would be one of the valued faces, voices and personalities internal members and external customers associate FDLE OHR with.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Specific duties include:
- Serving as primary back-up for OHR main reception desk and phone line which includes answering telephone calls and emails promptly and professionally; routing phone calls as well as greeting and routing visitors to appropriate staff members;
- Assisting with creating and updating official electronic personnel files for all members;
- Ensuring all documents are timely filed in applicable files;
- Serving as a back-up for applicant credit checks and fingerprinting;
- Assisting with collecting information, data entry, reviewing, submitting, maintaining and updating various databases and forms;
- Maintaining a thorough working knowledge of FDLE programs and services to assist Department customers in resolving problems or responding to requests for assistance;
- Providing administrative assistance to OHR staff by organizing and maintaining files, entering data, alphabetizing, shredding, copying, etc.; and
- Maintaining strict confidentiality of both customer and member information.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of administrative principles and practices;
- Knowledge of the methods of data collection and basic arithmetic;
- Skills in Microsoft Programs including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint;
- Ability to operate a multiline telephone, computer, and multifunction copier/printer;
