The Health Equity Director will provide strategic and operational support across GRAIL to establish GRAIL as a leader in addressing healthcare disparities and ensuring diversity and equity in their clinical programs.

Duties & Respnsibilities;

  • Establish the diversity and health equity strategy for GRAIL studies in partnership with Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, and Health Systems colleagues. This includes the development of diversity and equity targets, timelines for implementation of Galleri, KPIs, and measurement frameworks for underserved populations
  • Contribute to the overall strategic direction for diversity and health equity activities in partnership with Government Affairs, Clinical Development, RWE.
  • Play an active role in identifying and recruiting clinical sites for participation in RWE and clinical research studies, as well as exploring other innovative ways of recruiting patients. This includes frequent site visits to ensure programmatic progress in underserved populations.
  • Engage with GRAIL scientific advisory board, key academic, community, and industry partners, and other thought leaders to innovate and refine strategies for diversity and health equity.
  • In partnership with the Medical Lead for Health Equity, provide input and cultivate alignment into RWE strategies and tactics for Medical Affairs with GRAIL’s academic, community and industry partners in support of health equity strategy create the framework for RWE study design and execution in collaboration with key internal stakeholders (Commercial, Marketing, Compliance, Regulatory) provide input to clinical data collection and quality assessment in collaboration with Clinical Development, Health Systems, and Medical Affairs
  • Collaborate with the leader of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion on the People team to increase visibility, educate, build knowledge and solicit support and participation across GRAIL on diversity and health equity programs and initiatives.
  • Establish key relationships with external stakeholder groups (eg. National Urban League, National Minority Quality Forum, Partners in Health, etc.) to design and execute on health equity strategy for GRAIL research

Qualifications;

  • MD, PhD, MBA, or PharmD with cultural competency and experience in serving the health care needs of diverse and underserved communities
  • Public health experience across broad populations preferred
  • Experience in program building in health systems with knowledge and experience in the business aspects of these systems 
  • Demonstrated experience in support of health equity strategies, including work with NGO and other community and healthcare organizations to promote delivery and research in under-represented minority populations and economically disadvantaged communities
  • Demonstrated success in technical proficiency, scientific creativity, collaboration with others, and independent thought
  • Independent judgment in developing methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a matrix environment, including influence and relationship management
  • Superior communication abilities with varied audiences and demonstrated ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholder groups
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and approach with the ability to work in an ambiguous environment, while maintaining a focus on operational excellence and detail orientation to activate and drive execution.
The expected, full-time, annual base pay scale for this position is $213,000 - $305,000 Actual base pay will consider skills, experience, and location. 
Based on the role, colleagues may be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan tied to company and individual performance, or an incentive plan. We also offer a long-term incentive plan to align company and colleague success over time.
