The Field Hockey Assistant Coach will assist the head coach in the organization, management, and coaching of a competitive Division I field hockey program. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to relate to and motivate student-athletes and work with a variety of university staff, alumni, and the greater Towson community. This position will allow a highly motivated individual to implement practice plans, develop student-athletes during practice, and assist with film review and editing. In addition, this position will assist the head coach in the coordination of administrative areas of program management including, scheduling, travel planning, and home game management.
Responsibilities and Duties
Responsibilities for the Field Hockey Assistant Coach include, but are not limited to the following:
- Assists with planning and organizing team practices
- Assists in organizing recruiting visits; acting as host for recruits and families on campus
- Assists in organizing team travel planning
- Assists in maintaining video files/records for the field hockey program
- Assists in video analysis of team and opponents to help in game planning and game debriefing
The work hours for this position will include weekends based on game schedules. Travel is required.
Qualifications and Skills
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- Two years of experience playing and/or coaching field hockey
Preferred Qualification:
- Basic knowledge of collegiate field hockey
$45,000 annually and a contract that offers holidays and sick days. Contractual employees scheduled to work 30 or more hours per week may be eligible for subsidized health benefits coverage.
