Description
Stony Brook Southampton Hospital is seeking a Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor who is a highly skilled and compassionate Vascular Surgeon to join our expanding surgical team. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive vascular care to the East End community, including advanced endovascular procedures, open surgical interventions, and the full spectrum of outpatient and inpatient vascular services. This position supports the hospital’s mission to expand specialty access, enhance quality of care, and strengthen integration with Stony Brook Medicine.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Division and Department of Surgery. The candidate is expected to work with residents and fellows, participate in all the academic activities of the division, and engage in scholarly activities including peer reviewed publications and enrollment in clinical trials.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- MD/DO degree (or foreign equivalent).
- Eligibility for or a license to practice medicine in New York State.
- Board Certified/Board Eligible in Vascular Surgery.
- Completion of a fully accredited U.S.-based vascular residency or fellowship program.
- Experience in clinical research, including participation in clinical trials.
- Strong record of academic productivity with peer-reviewed publications and presentations at regional, national, or international meetings.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Record of success in clinical research.
- Interest and experience supervising undergraduate/graduate medical students, residents, and fellows.
- Prior experience with clinical trials.

To qualify for tenure and/or a senior faculty appointment, the candidate must meet the criteria established by the School of Medicine (School of Medicine's Criteria for Appointment, Promotion and Tenure).
