Senior Director of Enterprise Security and Identity & Access Management (IAM)

Position Summary: 

The Senior Director of Enterprise Security and Identity & Access Management (IAM) is a strategic and technical leadership role responsible for shaping, executing, and maintaining a comprehensive security strategy across the enterprise. This leader will oversee security architecture, operations, risk management, and compliance initiatives while leading IAM programs that ensure secure, scalable, and frictionless access to systems and data. The ideal candidate combines technical depth, business acumen, and a strong track record of leading diverse security teams in complex, regulated environments. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

Enterprise Security Strategy & Operations 

  • Define and lead the enterprise-wide information security strategy in alignment with business goals and regulatory requirements. 

  • Oversee threat intelligence, security operations, vulnerability management, and incident response programs. 

  • Collaborate with executive leadership to align risk management practices with organizational priorities. 

  • Drive security posture improvements through continuous assessment and maturity model adoption (e.g., NIST CSF, ISO 27001). 

Identity & Access Management (IAM) Leadership 

  • Lead the enterprise IAM function, including identity lifecycle, privileged access management (PAM), authentication, and authorization strategies. 

  • Oversee implementation and management of IAM platforms (e.g., Okta, SailPoint, Azure AD). 

  • Champion Zero Trust and least-privilege access principles across users, systems, and APIs. 

  • Ensure smooth onboarding and offboarding processes with secure and timely access provisioning. 

Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) 

  • Partner with internal audit and legal teams on assessments, audits, and regulatory responses. 

  • Own enterprise security policies, training, and awareness programs. 

Team Leadership & Stakeholder Collaboration 

  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing security team across security operations, IAM, and GRC. 

  • Foster cross-functional partnerships with IT, HR, Legal, Product, and Engineering teams. 

  • Represent security initiatives to executive leadership, board members, customers, and auditors. 

 

Qualifications: 

Required: 

  • 12+ years of progressive experience in cybersecurity, with 5+ years in a leadership role. 

  • Deep expertise in IAM, security architecture, and enterprise risk management.
