Position Summary
The Associate Director of Information Technology is a senior technology leader responsible for IT operations and strategic partnership across Rockefeller Center’s attractions, hospitality venues, events, and guest-facing experiences. This role balances operational excellence, financial stewardship, and team leadership while working closely with business stakeholders to deliver reliable, scalable technology in a dynamic, high-visibility environment.
The ideal candidate brings an innovative, solutions-oriented mindset and the ability to translate business priorities into effective technology outcomes, while leveraging automation and emerging tools to improve efficiency and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
IT Operations & Infrastructure
- Lead IT operations supporting guest-facing and operational environments across Rockefeller Center.
- Oversee core infrastructure including networking, cloud platforms (Azure), on-prem systems, cybersecurity, and endpoints.
- Ensure stability and performance of POS systems and other revenue-critical platforms.
- Direct incident management, uptime, and operational support for high-traffic, time-sensitive operations.
Business Partnership
- Partner closely with business leaders to align technology solutions with operational, financial, and guest experience needs.
- Clearly communicate technical concepts and tradeoffs to non-technical stakeholders.
- Support new initiatives, seasonal programs, and events with scalable, reliable IT solutions.
Strategy, Automation & Innovation
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, resiliency, and service delivery through technology.
- Champion automation to reduce manual effort and improve monitoring, provisioning, and reporting.
- Evaluate and apply practical AI-enabled tools to enhance:
- Operational insights and reporting
- Incident management and root-cause analysis
- Predictive maintenance and capacity planning
- Business and financial decision support
- Contribute to IT roadmaps that balance operational stability with future-ready capabilities.
Financial & Vendor Management
- Lead IT budgeting, forecasting, and cost management.
- Ensure accountability for ROI, asset lifecycle management, and cost transparency.
- Lead vendor and contract management, including selection, negotiation, performance governance, and cost optimization for IT services and solutions.
Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop internal teams and managed service partners.
- Establish clear expectations, standards, and accountability.
- Promote a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement and modern IT practices.
About You
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or related field
- 8+ years of progressive IT experience, including leadership responsibility for teams, vendors, or major initiatives.
- Proven success leading IT operations in customer-facing, high-availability, or mission-critical environments.
- Strong working knowledge of cloud and hybrid infrastructure, managing SaaS platforms, and working with e-comm
