About the role
Our partner is looking for a Field Manager of Labor Relations in Tampa, FL.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with local management to develop a union labor relations strategy aligned with business objectives.
- Provide advice, counsel, and training to managers regarding collective bargaining agreements.
- Evaluate and resolve grievances and local conflicts stemming from labor agreements.
- Offer guidance to local management on disciplinary actions and misconduct issues.
- Assist in developing and negotiating collective bargaining agreements.
- Prepare compensation and cost analyses for potential work stoppages.
- Represent the organization in negotiations when necessary.
- Handle arbitration and unfair labor practice cases.
- Respond to union information requests.
- Foster and maintain relationships with union leadership to enhance union-management relations.
- Provide management training and strategy development for employee relations.
- Offer Human Resources support as necessary.
Additional Human Resources Responsibilities:
In certain locations and/or due to business needs as they may arise from time to time, this role will or may be called upon to cover certain Human Resources or other administrative responsibilities, including but not limited to:
- Assist with Talent Acquisition processes and local recruiting efforts.
- Lead new hire onboarding and address various HR issues.
- Help manage employee performance and disciplinary issues.
- Facilitate labor/management or other mandated committees.
- Assist with exit interviews and the collection of company property upon voluntary terminations.
Requirements
- A 4-year degree.
- A minimum of 5 years of Labor Relations experience.
- A successful track record in collective bargaining, grievance and arbitration processes, labor-management relations, and HR management.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong analytical abilities.
- Ability to resolve conflicts through persuasion, mediation, and negotiation.
- Knowledge of state and federal labor laws.
- Proficiency in computer use, including email, Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint (Excel proficiency a plus).
- An equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Willingness to travel.
