Printpack is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of Plate Maker for the Converting plant in Grand Prairie, TX. The Plate Maker is responsible for operating and maintaining plate making equipment to produce high-quality flexographic plates for printing operations. This position requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to follow precise specifications while meeting production deadlines. This position reports to the Prepress Supervisor/Manager. This will be a 2nd shift position (3pm-11pm, Mon - Fri)
Key Responsibilities:
Operate plate making system following written instructions
Monitor and manage plate production activities
Perform quality checks and measurements
Troubleshoot equipment issues
Verify accuracy of designs and documentation
Perform mathematical calculations
Use precise measuring instruments
Maintain equipment and work area
Complete required documentation
Support press department needs
Other duties as assigned
Education & Experience:
1 year machine operation experience preferred

Physical Demands: The associate will primarily work in a office environment with some exposure to the manufacturing environment where hazards and requirements may include but are not limited to:
Standing for extended periods
Lifting up to 50 pounds
Bending and reaching
Fine motor skills for detailed work
Must be able to pass color blind test
Visual acuity for quality inspection
Manual dexterity
Ability to wear required PPE (hearing protection, steel-toe shoes, safety glasses)
Work Conditions: The majority of tasks will be performed in a office type setting with some need to go into the manufacturing setting with exposure to:
Climate-controlled workspace
Exposure to typical manufacturing environment
Noise levels above 85 dB
Operation of complex machinery
Exposure to chemicals and materials
May require nights, weekends, holidays or overtime
An additional $2.50/hr premium for hours worked on NIGHT Shift (7pm - 7am) only
