ManTech is currently seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Access Control/Physical Security Specialist to join our team at our Annapolis Junction, MD location.

This is an on-site position.

Requires travel within the organizational geographic Area of Responsibility (AOR)


Administers all aspects of the Intelligence Community and/or other industrial security programs to ensure compliance with government and company security policies and procedures. Protects classified government information and publishes security awareness for all cleared corporate personnel. Monitors security procedures; ensures compliance with all aspects of the program including personnel, physical, and administrative security systems and procedures. May conduct security briefings and maintains security education programs. Investigates security violations; may recommend corrective action. Assists in revision of procedures manuals and may interface with outside agencies.


The position provides Access Control to the facility and if appropriately cleared, may assist other security officers with program security administration.  The candidate is responsible to the Director of Security and in addition to Access Control functions, they must possess the skills to ensure all visitors and employees are greeted professionally and receive assistance as necessary.
 

Responsibilities to include but not limited to:

  • Checks identification of all visitors and ensures all are sponsored and properly cleared via DISS or SIMS (ManTech database of record)
  • Perform(s) visitor control functions and determines visitors need to enter the building, logs visitors in, issues visitor badges and notifies hosts of visitor arrivals
  • Ensures visitors are not introducing any prohibited items (cell phones, pagers, PDAs, etc.)
  • Performs and/or assists government employees with inspecting bags and hand-carried items, verifying identity, entry control, posting signs on doors and other security requirements per normal and heightened security checklists
  • Receives packages from outside agencies (UPS, Fed Ex, etc.) and notifies addressees to pick up packages at the front desk
  • Checks assigned personnel and ensure they have authorized access badges and properly display them while in the facility
  • Performs emergency procedures for bomb threat, active shooter, force protection, Anti-Terrorism, fire evacuation and follows all checklists
  • Accounts for all logs, instructions, equipment and badges at the beginning and end of each scheduled workday
  • Other duties in support of the ManTech Security office may be required

Basic Qualifications

  • 1 year experience with Access Control
  • Bachelors’ Degree is preferred but not required, however a High School Diploma is required
  • Prior experience in program security work highly preferred
  • Must be familiar with security policy/manuals and the appropriate NISPOM and ICDs and other guiding policy documents
  • Must have the ability to work in a dynamic environment and effectively interact with numerous IC, military/civilian personnel and industry partners
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)

Security Clearance Requirements

  • No clearance needed to start but must be able to obtain a TS/SCI and able to take and successfully complete a FS Polygraph
  • Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet program eligibility requirements for special access programs to classified information

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the day.
  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer
