We are looking for a proactive and motivated Cloud Security Intern to join our Cloud security team. This is a hands-on role where you’ll assist in securing cloud infrastructure, learning key security concepts, and helping maintain compliance. This internship will provide you with practical experience and exposure to cutting-edge cloud security technologies, setting the foundation for a career in cybersecurity.
Responsibilities and Impact:
Security Audits: Assist in performing security configuration audits across various cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), ensuring proper controls are in place.
Identity & Access Management (IAM): Help review IAM roles and permissions to ensure they adhere to the least privilege principle.
Security Monitoring: Monitor cloud environments for potential security incidents using security tools like AWS CloudTrail, Azure Security Center, or Google Cloud’s Security Command Center.
Vulnerability Scanning: Assist in running vulnerability scans on cloud infrastructure and support remediation efforts under guidance from senior team members.
Encryption and Data Protection: Learn and assist in configuring encryption policies for data in transit and at rest.
Incident Response Support: Support the incident response team in identifying, documenting, and addressing minor security incidents.
Security Documentation: Help in documenting cloud security policies, procedures, and best practices for internal use.
Compliance Assistance: Assist with audits and compliance checks for frameworks such as GDPR, SOC 2, HIPAA, and others, ensuring that cloud services meet required security standards.
Automation and Scripting: Begin learning how to use scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) or Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools like Terraform to automate routine security tasks.
Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams, such as DevOps and IT, to implement security recommendations and learn how to integrate security into development processes.
Compensation/Benefits Information: (This section is only applicable to US candidates)
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $25 to $30. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications.
This role is not eligible for additional compensation such as an annual incentive bonus or sales commission plan.
What We’re Looking For:
Basic Required Qualifications:
Educational Background: Bachelor's degree program in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Technical Skills:
- Fully matriculated students with anticipated undergraduate graduation date in Fall 2025 or Spring 2026
Basic understanding of cloud computing concepts and services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
