Overview
We are seeking a Lead Certified Pharmacy Technician, sometimes referred to as our Lead Pharm Tech. The Lead Pharmacy Technician scope of care provided includes General Medicine/Surgery, Intensive Care, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Pediatrics, Emergency Care, Transitional Care, Geriatrics, and Outpatient Services. The Lead Pharmacy Tech coordinates daily operations, manages inventory, ensures compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and assists pharmacists with clinical tasks. They ensure efficient medication preparation, dispensing, and provide quality control, while addressing issues and supporting patient care. This role combines leadership, technical expertise, and operational management to maintain smooth pharmacy operations.

Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):
- Work under the guidance of a licensed pharmacist, aiding with various tasks in the pharmacy department that do not require the pharmacist's professional judgment
- Mentor pharmacy technicians, providing training, guidance, and support to ensure quality and efficient performance
- The Lead Pharmacy Technician also has supervisory duties and is responsible for managing systems such as Pyxis, Meditech, and drug ordering
- Maintain patient records, prepare, package, and label medication doses, and fill and dispense routine stock orders for patient care areas
- Oversee medication stock levels, placing orders, and conducting regular inventory checks to prevent shortages or overstocking.
- Enter physician orders, schedule, and update technician shifts, and oversee the use of automated drug delivery systems (Pyxis)
- Address problem that arise in medication dispensing or patient care, and coordinating with pharmacists and other hospital staff to resolve them
