Position Summary
Guggenheim Securities (“GS”) is seeking a proactive Expense Review & Control Specialist to join its Finance Team. The candidate will join a dynamic team sitting in the broader Expense Management team, reporting to the Expense Review and Control Supervisor.
The ideal candidate will be reliable, detail oriented, and able to exercise excellent judgment. You must have exceptional communication skills, demonstrate strong customer service and professionalism, be able to handle numerous concurrent projects, and handle a heavy workload with a high level of accuracy.
In this role, you will handle expense review and control processes, including expense pre- and post-approvals, travel and entertainment exceptions, contract review, and conference budget support for all divisions of GS. The successful candidate will be comfortable interacting with other senior members of the team and clients in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Job Functions
- Gather & prepare data on conference, internal, and external meal and entertainment events for management review and approval
- Review and process employee requests related to out-of-policy travel, post-deal T&E expenses, and concert & sporting event tickets
- Review and process expense reports, spend authorizations, and invoices while adhering to firm policies
- Research and compile ad hoc reporting to support Expense Review & Control processes
- Assist in preparation for weekly expense meeting
- Prepare summaries for weekly meeting
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word
- Strong time management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to exercise judgment, including prioritizing issues and tasks
- Detail-oriented and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Hands-on and willing to roll up sleeves to perform all responsibilities needed to ensure success
- Self-starter who can work with the other professionals on the team
- Able to deal with all levels of employees with professionalism
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a quantitative discipline or equivalent experience
- 1 to 3 years of experience in Expense Management, Finance, Operations, or Executive Assistant
Work Location
- Currently, this role is expected to be in the New York office at least 3 days per week, Tuesday through Thursday.
Salary
- Annual base salary between $65,000 - $70,000
- The base salary range represents the low and high end of the anticipated base salary range for this position. Actual base salaries may vary depending on factors such as location and experience. The range listed reflects base salary only, and the total compensation package may include other components such as incentive compensation.
