<h2><b>JOIN THE TEAM</b></h2> <p>Our Service Unit Global Intellectual Property is one of the biggest inhouse IP units in Germany. We are responsible for all services relating to patents, trademarks, trade secrets, plant variety protection, copyrights, designs and IP Intelligence, as well as all IP-contracts. We are a global team servicing the entire BASF group and work in close alliance with the operating business units as well as with the research and technology platforms. In this way we create a basis for future business success and actively influence BASF's competitive situation.</p> <h2><b>RESPONSIBILITIES</b></h2> <p>Join our Global IP BASF Dispersions &amp; Resins team, which is responsible for all aspects of intellectual property for the Dispersions &amp; Resins (ED) division, a leading global supplier of polymer dispersions, resins and additives to key industries in the automotive, plastics, paints and coatings and electronics sectors.</p> <p> </p> <ul> <li>Your tasks include the close contact with inventors, IP management, marketing, and R&amp;D of the business division to counsel on all IP-related questions.</li> <li>Also, you draft patent applications and handle examination proceedings before the respective patent offices.</li> <li>You defend our patent portfolio in legal proceedings before patent offices and courts as well as secure freedom-to-operate for the business vis-à-vis our competitors.</li> <li>In addition, you support and coordinate patent litigation proceedings together with external law firms and support the build-up of a strategic patent portfolio.</li> <li>You analyze the monitoring of 3rd parties’ patents together with colleagues from IP Intelligence.</li> <li>Finally, you draft and negotiate IP-related contracts such as licenses, joint development agreements, or cooperation agreements in interdisciplinary teams and conduct IP trainings for the business.</li> </ul> <h2><b>QUALIFICATIONS</b></h2> <ul> <li>master’s degree in chemistry (preferably PhD), chemical engineering or related field </li> <li>(almost) completed training as European and/or German Patent Attorney</li> <li>at least four years IP experience in an industry IP department and/or major law firm</li> <li>preferably experience in drafting and negotiating IP related contracts such as licenses and cooperations</li> <li>business fluency in German and English</li> <li>a business-oriented mindset, enthusiasm for challenging IP questions and openness to work in interdisciplinary teams in a diverse and international environment</li> </ul> <h2><b>BENEFITS</b></h2> <ul> <li>Inspiring networks for the development and implementation of your ideas (e.g. Women in Business)</li> <li>Mentoring programs and learning opportunities for your professional and personal development</li> <li>Career paths as professional development to other positions in the company (including job rotation)</li> <li>Support with childcare (e.g. company daycare, holiday programmes)</li> <li>Fitness and health studio, medical center with numerous offers for your health</li> <li>Deutschlandticket as a discounted job ticket, job bike, availability of e-charging stations for private vehicles</li> </ul> <h2><b>ABOUT US</b></h2> <p>Do you have any questions about the application process or the position?
