Director of Quality

Responsibilities

The Director of Quality provides strategic leadership and direction to the Quality Assurance Team. This position is responsible for ensuring company compliance to company policies and procedures, including safety rules and regulations. This position will be responsible for driving quality at the manufacturing level.

Essential Functions

• Responsible for providing strategic leadership, management and direction to the Quality Assurance Team
• Oversee, manage, coordinate and prioritize the daily activities of the Quality Team and assigned staff
• Oversee operations of the Quality Department related to testing and release of products in accordance with all SOPs, cGMPs, company policies and procedures, and FDA requirements related to the Company products
• Carries out managerial responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies, procedures, and state, federal and local laws
• Ensures compliance with and enforcement of SOPs and cGMPs
• Manages, reviews, and finalizes the completion of inspections and audits to ensure compliance with cGMPs, SOPs, company practices and procedures and governmental regulations with department managers
• Prepares reviews and approves reports for the executive management
• Prepares and manages the department budget, evaluates new equipment and other capital expenditures and submits purchase recommendations
• Ensure project deadlines and performance standards are established and met
• Review and approve Annual Product Reviews. Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures, including safety rules and regulations
• Maintains departmental operational budget to ensure completeness, accuracy, and conformance with established procedures, regulations, and organizational objectives

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or above
• Experience in plant Quality management
• Prefer experience in OTC, cosmetics
• Co-direct the change at the facility to one where Quality is a focus
• Ability to lead change
• Experience with managing activities of third-party analytical and microbiology labs
• Experience with change controls a must

• Ten (10) years’ experience in pharmaceutical quality Assurance and analytical research.

• At least ten (10) years progressive managerial or five (5) years at a Director level or above.
