The Site Reliability Engineer Associate (SRE) is responsible for assisting to ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of TRS Information Technology Infrastructure. The incumbent will assist in managing a complex application and infrastructure environment which includes Windows and Linux servers, Microsoft Active Directory, and cloud-based infrastructure such as Microsoft 365. This position will work closely with IT staff and agency employees.
The Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) is responsible for playing a critical role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of TRS Information Technology Infrastructure. The incumbent will maintain the security and integrity of communication infrastructure systems and cybersecurity systems, as defined in Section 117.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code; and assist in managing a complex application and infrastructure environment which includes Windows and Linux servers, Microsoft Active Directory, and cloud-based infrastructure such as Microsoft 365. This position will work closely with IT staff and agency employees.

This vacancy will be filled at one of three levels - Site Reliability Engineer Associate, Site Reliability Engineer or Site Reliability Engineer Senior.
WHAT WILL YOU DO:
Site Reliability Engineer Associate
Core System and Identity Engineering
• Uses infrastructure-as-code, primarily Powershell, to automate processes and integrations across various technologies
• Works closely with cross-functional teams to assist in designing, implementing, maintaining, and monitoring IT infrastructure.
• Provides support for infrastructure related tasks focusing in areas such as Microsoft Active Directory, Windows and Linux server administration, and Microsoft 365.
• Applies source control, continuous integration and delivery, and configuration management processes and tools.
System Support & Maintenance
• Analyzes and diagnoses infrastructure problems.
• Assists in evaluating future information technology requirements and assists in developing long-range, comprehensive infrastructure planning and roadmaps.
• Supports the installation, configuration, monitoring, and maintenance of the IT infrastructure.
• Collaborates with cross-functional IT teams and agency staff to establish and sustain scalable, reliable, and high-performing systems, ensure infrastructure security, and consult with teams to identify necessary tasks for supporting project initiatives.
• Monitors applications and systems for compliance with licensing agreements and system availability.
