We are seeking a CMT Field Technician to join our Evansville, IN team! Come join us!

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Performs construction-related field tests as directed by the Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Manager and Senior Engineer.
  • Travels to various construction sites primarily throughout Kentucky and Southern Indiana, with the potential for overnight and/or weekend as needed.
  • Relays information to project manager and/or engineer, with limited in-field decision making.
  • Transports equipment, test specimens and/or documents to field personnel, laboratory, clients or other offices, and provides physical assistance in equipment set-up.
  • Enters daily field observation reports and summary reports electronically.
  • Performs field quality control tests of in place concrete.
  • Performs field density testing on soil, concrete, asphalt and other construction materials.
  • Assists other technicians or professional staff on tasks and assists other departments as necessary.
  • Follows Atlas’ safety plans, programs, policies, and procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Continued education, college degree, and/or degree in technical fields a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Physical strength, stamina and dexterity to lift and move 70 lbs., stoop, bend, and stand throughout the course of up to a 12-hour workday in varying weather conditions in varying terrain.
  • Experience with concrete, soils, and asphalt testing is preferred.
  • Motivated, career-oriented individual striving to learn and achieve within the construction industry.
  • Must be willing to travel within Kentucky and Indiana as required by assignments
  • INDOT Soil Testing Certification - Highly Encouraged

Technical Requirements:

  • Work toward and achieve American Concrete Institute (ACI) Level 1 certification within six months of employment.
  • Obtain INDOT Certifications within 2 years
