SCOPE:

As a Business Engineering Analyst II, you will provide support activities to MHIA and its affiliates for Engineering Applications.  This position will bring knowledge on the business processes and data systems involved in the design, development, and release to manufacturing for new product introductions and sustaining engineering.  This position will work cross functionally as needed with IT, Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, and other functions to ensure secure storage of engineering drawings, specifications and accurate product data for manufacturing and engineer to order competencies. 

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Install, configure, administer and maintain the Engineering Applications across all affiliates;
  • Determine operational objectives by studying business functions, gathering information and evaluating output requirements and formats;
  • Interface with technical and non-technical business users to understand complex business process needs, and translate into functional and technical application, data, and reporting requirements documents;
  • Gather business and system requirements via interviews and analysis of current systems, reports and data;
  • Define project requirements by identifying project milestones, phases, and elements, forming project teams and establishing project budgets;
  • Support and/or Lead project work as required by leadership, such as performing tasks, updating project schedule with status and reporting issues, etc;
  • Monitor project progress by tracking activities, resolving problems, publishing progress reports and recommending actions;
  • Provide expert functional guidance including configuration review and setup, functional troubleshooting, setup changes, and data analysis;
  • Create key project artifacts including functional specifications, configuration documents, user acceptance plan, and promotion instructions;
  • Assist with defining data models that properly integrate reporting data from the appropriate enterprise systems;
  • Promote system changes (including patches) following change control practices and assist with evolving departmental processes;
  • Knowledge of API capabilities for integrating Engineering applications with other system tools;
  • Takes ownership of issues by carrying out problem analysis to implement temporary or permanent fixes with the aim of restoring service to the customer as soon as possible; escalating incidents to other support teams when necessary;
  • Ability to create documentation such as, but not limited to: SOPs, How To’s and Process Training, etc;

  • Protect confidential information by not communicating, disclosing to, or using for benefit of third parties;
  • Perform other related duties, as directed by IT Leadership team;
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, benchmarking state-of-the-art practices and participating in professional societies;
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed 

 

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Education Requirement: Bachelor's degree (BS) from four-year college or university; in a field related to technology, such as Computer Science, Management of Information Systems, Software Engineering or Cyber Security
  • Experience: At least five (5) years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Includes progressive IT experience.
  • Any special skills/training/certifications:
    • Advanced knowledge of Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Visio) is preferred.
