Packhouse Operator

 

Titan Florida, LLC has an excellent opportunity for a Packhouse Operator in our Cement Plant located in Medley, FL.  This Wage position is assigned to the Packhouse Department and will report directly to the Packhouse Supervisor. The primary function of this position is to operate and conduct basic maintenance of the packaging machine and ensure that finalized products are ready for distribution. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

 

 

Job Responsibilities:

• Must be able to work in confined and/or hot environments as needed.
• Inspect and keep the equipment being operated, clean and safe.
• Performing routine checks to ensure that the machine is in an operable state.
• Respond to Packhouse supervisor to resolve problems throughout the Packhouse and cement silos.
• Communicate over a two-way radio.
• Report equipment breakdowns to generate Work Orders.
• Must safely operate and support any mobile equipment as required such as forklifts.
• Maintain all levels of the packhouse free of hazards, in a neat and orderly appearance that meets environmental standards.
• Solid understanding of both blending and packing lines, able to troubleshoot and adjust equipment.
• Operation of material transfer system to maintain steady material flow.
• Starting up and stopping the machine as necessary, including refilling packaging material.
• Ensuring the correct packaging is used for specific product ranges and that packaging is done in line with the company standards.
• Inspecting final products.
• Reporting faulty packaging or problems on the machines to the packhouse supervisor.
• Accurate maintain production and inventory records.
• Comply with and support all MSHA mandated safety rules, policies & procedures.
• Complete daily reports on equipment throughout the plant.
• Support and complete any safety report or form as required.

 

Qualifications:

• Safety-minded.
• High School diploma or GED; or 3 or more years related experience and/or training.
• Must be able to speak, read and write in English.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 94 lbs.
• Must be capable of heavy physical labor work.
• Ability to work with others.
• Must be available for overtime as required.
• Must be available to work on different shift as assigned (1st, 2nd or 3rd).
• Must be comfortable working in high places and confined spaces.
• Familiarity with hand and pneumatic tools a plus.
