The Role at a Glance

As an Accounting Systems Analyst, you will consult/analyze and deliver on more complex assignments/projects for your assigned area(s) of Accounting Systems responsibility. In this role, you will act as a resource to business and IT partners providing system and process related support including scheduling and monitoring the forecast/budget processes. You will also work closely with the Managed Service Provider (MSP) to ensure deliverables are accurate and on-time.

What you'll be doing

  • Analyzing and administering all business aspects, including security, for accounting systems platforms within assigned area of responsibility (e.g. Hyperion Planning platform; Hyperion Essbase cubes).
  • Championing and enhancing organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives.
  • Consulting/Analyzing on more complex assignments and/or projects.
  • Identifying opportunities and utilizing system technology to create process improvements; Participating in various initiatives intended to improve specific areas or functions within department.
  • Maintaining knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends, assessing the impact, and collaborating with management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future solutions.
  • Monitoring Managed Service Provider (MSP) activity and providing direction as necessary to ensure deliverables are accurate and on-time.
  • Partnering closely with IT, business partners, and business analysts to consult on projects and work requests for planning platforms in all stages of the project(s) including analysis/planning, design, development, testing and implementation.
  • Partnering with IT to implement efficiencies around ongoing maintenance of systems.
  • Partnering with the Expense FP&A team to plan, schedule, execute, and monitor each budget version process including budget allocations accurately and within scheduled timeframe.
  • Planning, organizing, and assisting in performing more complex system related activities needed to open the annual budget process.
  • Preparing and updating training materials for systems in their area of responsibility.
  • Serving as a resource to team members and applicable internal/external stakeholders on more complex assignments/projects.
  • Serving as a resource to team members and to customers of the platform(s).
  • Carrying out duties in compliance with all state and federal regulations and guidelines. Complying with all company and site policies and procedures.
  • Performing other duties as required.

What we’re looking for

Must-Haves:

  • 3 - 5+ Years of experience with finance systems and accounting that directly relates to the responsibilities for this position
  • 4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's) 
  • Confident, comfortable communicator with strong written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Ability to work with others in a team environment, Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative style.
  • Demonstrated strong relationship management skills with internal clients (e.g. management, peers and colleagues); proven ability to develop collaborative approaches. 
  • Strong project management skills including, critical ability to coordinate and balance multiple projects in a time-sensitive environment, under pressure, and meeting deadlines.
  • Demonstrates excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and multi-task while maintaining strict attention to detail. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Nice-to-haves:

  • Strong accounting knowledge.
  • Experience with report creation in applications such as Tableau.
