General Information:

James Madison University, a Division 1 Member of the NCAA and Sun Belt Conference, is seeking an Associate Athletics Trainer. This position is a 12-month position with a full comprehensive benefits package. Only current members of the JMU-Sports Medicine team are eligible to apply for this position.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Supervises one (1) Assistant Athletic Trainer. Including but not limited to, mandatory monthly check-ins for mentorship, guidance, and problem-solving. This will also include yearly performance evaluations and goal setting.
2. Serves as Room Lead Liaison for the Godwin Athletic Training facility and manage day-to-day operations of this facility while assisting Director of Integrated Health and Sports Performance with policy and procedure incorporation.
3. Assists with Pre-Participation Physical Exam organization (manage yearly schedule for 500+ athletes over 18 teams). This includes ortho evaluation, concussion testing, mental health screening, EKG testing, and physician clearance
4. Act as a Liaison to the JMU Athletic Training Education Program to assist with student placement and programming for all athletic training students.
5. Other duties as assigned by Director of Integrated Health and Sports Performance

 

Qualifications:

Required:

• Master’s Degree
• Currently an employee of the JMU Sports Medicine Team
• Ability to effectively communicate with multiple parties within the athletics department and campus community
• 3+ years of relevant clinical experience
• Positive attitude and willingness to grow within the profession
