Summary
Invictus is recruiting a Senior Project Manager for a leading independent commercial HVAC engineering and equipment firm. This leader will serve as a program level project manager for large industrial cooling and central plant projects based in Texas.
The Senior Project Manager will guide planning, construction, and commissioning for a multi year program of large chiller plant projects, coordinate multiple equipment packages, and serve as the primary project leader to internal and external stakeholders. As the program grows, this person will have an opportunity to move into a broader operations role and help build a larger team to support ongoing work.
The ideal candidate brings deep experience in heavy industrial projects such as central utility plants, data center infrastructure, district energy systems, oil and gas facilities, or power generation plants, and is comfortable leading projects at one hundred million dollars or greater in value.
Responsibilities
- Lead overall program delivery for large industrial cooling and central plant projects in Texas
- Own project delivery from early planning through commissioning and handover, including scope, schedule, cost, and quality management
- Review plans and specifications and identify appropriate HVAC equipment and control solutions for each project
- Develop proposals and technical submittals for HVAC equipment and building controls solutions that meet client and engineer requirements
- Coordinate permitting activities, environmental requirements, engineer of record interactions, and commissioning plans
- Oversee construction activities for chiller plant systems, including chillers, pumps, tanks, fluid coolers, piping, electrical distribution, and programmable logic controller based control systems
- Direct and coordinate multiple trades and subcontractors on large industrial sites, including mechanical, electrical, civil, and controls partners
- Serve as the primary project leader to the client organization, provide regular status updates, and resolve issues in a professional and timely manner
- Inform and educate customers regarding technological advancements in HVAC, central plant design, and controls solutions
- Foster and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to support repeatable, high quality delivery across projects
- Support contract and risk management activities and help safeguard commercial interests while maintaining strong client partnerships
- Support projects from pursuit through completion and commissioning in order to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction
- Learn and utilize enterprise software and project management tools to support forecasting, reporting, and project documentation
- Help shape processes, tools, and reporting structures that enable a scalable operations model as the program grows
- Delegate responsibilities effectively and mentor others as the team expands while remaining accountable for program and project results
Qualifications
- 10 to 25 years of project management experience in heavy industrial construction
- Experience as a general contractor project leader, engineering procurement and construction project executive, or similar senior project role
- Direct leadership experience with large mechanical and electrical projects such as central utility plants, data center cooling infrastructure, oil and gas facilities, power generation plants, or district energy systems
- Proven record of success leading large complex projects with multiple equipment packages and multi discipline trades
- Strong understanding of construction planning, scheduling, contract administration, and project cash flow management
- Knowledge of permitting processes, environmental requirements, engineer of record coordination, and commissioning for complex mechanical and electrical systems
