Property Senior Litigation Specialist

Zurich North America is hiring an Property Senior Litigation Specialist to join our Claims team! We are open to hiring talent in one of the following locations: Schaumburg, IL or Addison, TX.

Under limited direction, evaluates legal liability and aggressively pursues, negotiates and resolves Property subrogation claims. When on-site investigation is necessary, secures additional information/investigation from referring office. Works within broad limits and authority on highly complex assignments requiring specialized knowledge in breadth and/or depth in area of expertise. Handles multi-line and multi-jurisdictional losses.

 

In this role you will be responsible for:

 

 

• Direct the investigation of property claims.
• Evaluate legal liability an aggressively pursue, negotiates and resolves multi-line/multi-jurisdictional subrogation claims.
• Secures additional information/investigation from claim offices when onsite investigation is necessary.
• Communicates with insured, witnesses, attorneys, and underwriters to obtain/provide the necessary information.
• Manage litigation.
• File arbitration.

 

Basic Qualifications:

 

 

• Bachelor’s Degree and 5 or more years of experience in the Insurance Industry area
  OR
• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 7 or more years of experience in the Insurance Industry area
  OR
• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 5 or more years of experience in the Insurance Industry area
  AND
• Experience with Microsoft Office
• Knowledge of commercial lines insurance including jurisdictional laws

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

 

• Experience working on Property claims in line of business highly preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong analytical skills
• Litigation management experience
• Organization and detail oriented skills

Additional rewards may encompass short-term incentive bonuses and merit increases. We encourage candidates with salary expectations beyond the provided range to apply as they will be considered based on their experience, skills, and education. The compensation indicated represents a nationwide market range and has not been adjusted for geographic differentials pertaining to the location where the position may be filled. The proposed salary range for this position is $64,600.00 - $110,000.00, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 15%.
