Job Description

AECOM is seeking an experienced Senior Architectural Designer to join our growing Bloomfield, NJ office and work on exciting and challenging projects for a variety of clients.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Develops technical solutions to a wide range of programmatic requirements
  • Develops planning and creative design concepts for projects
  • Prepares designs, 3D renderings, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings and working drawings
  • Works under only general direction
  • Independently determines and develops approach to solutions
  • Adapts and modifies design features and operational methods under the general supervision of a manager or senior manager to meet project specifications
  • The employee works with the project team to execute the project from concept to execution and completion
  • Responsible for providing architectural guidance, calculations, analysis, studies, and recommendations for a specialized segment of the Architectural Discipline within the schedules and budget of an assigned project
  • May manage various size groups of architects, designers, and/or specialists
  • May work on modest-sized projects and/or assist Project Architectural or Engineering Managers with higher grades

    Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements:

    • BA/BS in Architecture or related field plus eight (8) years of demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
    • Professional experience using AutoCAD or REVIT and Microsoft office

    Preferred Qualifications

    • 8 years of relevant professional experience
    • K-12 & higher education experience in New Jersey.  Experience with working with NJDOE, NJSDA & NJDCA
    • Relevant professional experience in construction administration
    • Excellent problem-solving skills
    • Strong interpersonal skills
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
