Our mills in Rumford, Maine and Biron Wisconsin are integrated paper & pulp facilities, and our mill in Fairmont, West Virginia is one of only three in the world that produces air-dried, recycled pulp. Our fourth mill in Old Town, ME produces softwood kraft pulp. We are proud of our 1400 dedicated employees, who together produce more than 1.2 million short tons of pulp & paper annually.
Overall responsibility for the leading day to day maintenance operations. Leads, trains and develops electrical and mechanical technicians to ensure maximum equipment uptime and productivity within the business’ budget. Oversees capital projects, contractors, preventative maintenance and repair for equipment and facility. Ensures all tasks carried out by the maintenance team or contractors complies with all environmental, health and safety requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING
- Achieve desired safety results by demonstrating personal commitment and leading safe processes to sustain a safe work environment.
- Implement and coordinate department safety education and processes.
- Educate contractors and hold accountable to the company’s safety policies.
- Swiftly investigate equipment failures and difficulties and resolve system malfunctions.
- Recommend design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions.
- Able to plan and schedule preventative maintenance, major maintenance and capital projects.
- Deliver projects on time within budget and ensuring quality standards are met.
- Develop support documentation including policies and procedures with specific requirements.
- Maintain equipment to OEM standards.
- Develop a network of service vendors and parts and equipment suppliers.
- Establish and coordinate the maintenance and safety procedures, service schedule, and supply of materials required to maintain machines and equipment in the prescribed condition.
- Support production leadership in meeting key metrics by identifying and implementing cost savings opportunities.
- Responsible for planning, organizing and regulating maintenance operation to meet or exceed return on investment expectations.
- Ensure company assets and physical plant are secure and well maintained.
- Lead maintenance team to meet customer requirements of quality product and on time delivery.
- Implement flexible scheduling/repair to minimize operation downtime.
- Drive machine reliability through disciplined application of the work order and preventative maintenance systems.
- Manage parts inventories and purchasing activities to meet budget and to ensure effective and timely repairs.
- Ensure accurate maintenance documentation/data entry
- Follow all appropriate environmental regulations and permitting requirements.
- Coach and develop maintenance team to optimal effectiveness.
