Within DCF, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health (SAMH) Program office is recognized as the single state authority for substance abuse and mental health services. The Office of SAMH is statutorily responsible for the planning, evaluation, and implementation of a comprehensive statewide system of care for the prevention, treatment, and recovery of children and adults with serious mental illnesses or substance use disorders.
North Florida Evaluation and Treatment Center (NFETC) is a 216 bed, all male, forensic, mental health rehabilitation facility. The Center is located in northeast Gainesville, Florida on 639 picturesque acres with regular sightings of deer, turkey and other wildlife. NFETC employs a variety of entry level to leadership positions including food service, maintenance, direct care, nurses, counselors, rehab therapists, medical doctors, security, psychiatrists, and psychologists.

Are you a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse looking to make an impact in a civil Mental Health facility? North Florida Evaluation and Treatment Center is seeking a Senior Registered Nurse Supervisor to lead our nursing team, ensuring high-quality care and support for residents.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Leadership & Supervision: Oversee nursing and direct care staff, including Registered Nurse Supervisors and night shift personnel, providing 24/7 guidance.
- Nursing Care Quality: Monitor, evaluate, and ensure the delivery of top-tier nursing care. Conduct audits, implement improvement plans, and maintain compliance with federal, state, and hospital guidelines.
- Team Management: Lead, motivate, and evaluate nursing staff. Participate in hiring, training, and disciplinary actions to maintain professional standards.
- Program Development: Develop and revise nursing policies and procedures. Coordinate quality assurance and infection control activities.
- Patient Care: Engage in treatment planning, conduct nursing assessments, and participate in patient education for community reintegration.
- Emergency Preparedness: Assist with disaster planning, emergency evacuations, and safety compliance.
- Performs other related duties as required.
