Job Description Qualifications:

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Trenton Senior Program Manager to lead the development and delivery of a space communications subsystem in El Segundo, California. 

This position is focused on design, production, integration and test of space hardware in the Boeing factory and at a major supplier. The program supports a critical mission area for an external customer.

The ideal candidate is a technical and strategic leader with experience in delivering hardware. The position requires (1) interfacing with Boeing feeder factories and suppliers; (2) leading multi-disciplinary teams to achieve SOW objectives; (3) executing the principles of program management to achieve cost and schedule targets; (4) building and maintaining relationships with customers; (5) supporting any new business activities related to the program.

The ideal candidate has demonstrated the ability to work within broad and minimally defined technical and programmatic areas and effectively lead integrated efforts. Clear and concise, written and oral communication of complex subjects to Boeing leadership and all levels of customers is required.

Position Responsibilities:

• Leadership: Manages, develops and motivates employees and teams; develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, suppliers, stakeholders, peers, partners, management and direct reports.
• Program Management: Executes SOW objectives and deliver on cost and schedule targets.
• Subsystem Development: Leads multi-disciplinary team through subsystem life cycle; meets or exceeds customer expectations on technical performance and schedule; provides expertise in the development of customer solutions; consults with management to balance customer expectations and company resources.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position is for 1st shift.

This position requires an active Top Secret/SCI U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• Bachelor’s degree or higher.
• More than 5 years of experience in program or project management.
• More than 5 years of experience working on satellite ground/spacecraft systems.
• Technical project/program management experience.
• Experience working with multiple internal and external stakeholders (i.e. business partner, customer, Finance, suppliers) in planning and executing projects.
• Experience building stakeholder and customer relationships.
• Experience with financial reporting.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• Experience working with and/or managing contractors or subcontractors.
• Experience with satellite communications & ground communications.
• Experience with satellite antenna subsystems, and the antenna subsystem lifecycle: design, analysis, manufacturing, procurement, and assembly, integration, and test.
• Experience working with cross functional teams.
• Experience developing and managing strong relationships with partners (internal & external), and suppliers.
• Experience interfacing with senior and executive leadership.

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience, 18 years' related work experience, etc.)

Travel:

Position may require travel up to 10% of the time.
