Initial placement within the salary range is based on an individual's relevant knowledge, skills, and experience. - Poker Assistant Shift Manager shall be the Manager assigned and present with the responsibility for directly managing and supervising all activities related to the operation and conduct of poker.
- Opens and closes games, monitors player ratings; reports win-loss in accordance with department standards.
- Provides direct supervision of all games and staff.
- Enforces games procedures and policies as outlined in company and department manuals; state regulations and in accordance with Internal Controls.
- Ensures the integrity of all gaming chips and monies entrusted.
- Maintains game security and protects company assets at all times.
- Shall make table fills/credits as needed.
- Enthusiastically supports, actively promotes and demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with department and company standards and programs.
- Effectively handles customer concerns and requests.
- Assists in staff selection; training; counseling; recognition; separation of employment and other human
- resources related issues.
- Complete understanding and adherence to disciplinary policies including but not limited to coaching and counseling staff and the use of progressive discipline to modify performance.
- Addresses and manages complaints, grievances or concerns from team members.
- Ensures that staff behavior and appearance are in compliance with established standards.
- Maintains a professional work environment with management and staff.
- Participates in meetings and training as required.
- Utilizes effective communication tools to ensure that consistent, accurate and timely information is provided through the shifts.
- Knowledgeable of all programs, policies and procedures affecting HCCTR team members.
- Maintains complete confidentiality of all company information at all times.
- Performs other duties as may be assigned by department and/or company management and performs all job duties in a safe and responsible manner.

- This position directly supervises Poker Dual-Rates and dealers.

- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university; and a minimum of 3 years comparable table games management experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Excellent communication skills both written and oral. Ability to read, analyze, interpret and comprehend documents, instructions, and correspondence/memos. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers or staff, customers and the general public.
- Ability to accurately calculate figures and amounts and perform mathematical functions applicable to business needs.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a variety of technical and mathematical formulas. Ability to interpret and follow through on a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
- Must obtain licensing with the West Virginia Lottery and Racing Commissions every year of employment.
