Engineering Manager, X-Sec Security Engineering

The X-Sec Team is responsible for Meta’s Information Security Program globally, and partners closely with our cross functional partners in our Product, Infrastructure Security and Enterprise Security teams to deploy solutions to protect our ~4B customers and our employees from the numerous threats faced by the organization on a daily basis. Within X-Sec we have a number of Engineering Teams that between them design and operate the core capabilities of our Enterprise Security Program at Meta.

The successful candidate will be in charge of supporting a team of managers and engineers who work closely with our Infrastructure Security (ISE) and Corp Security (EE) teams to deliver enterprise-scale security platforms and products to our employees and product teams across Meta.

The Enterprise Security Engineering Team (WSG) is searching for the world’s most creative and experienced Security Engineering leaders to join as a Manager of Security Engineering, for teams located in North America. These teams build and operate tools across our Vulnerability Management, Asset Management, Cloud Security, AI Security, DevInfra and Config Management platforms, all of which are mission critical for Meta. We embrace leaders with hands-on expertise in building highly reliable and scalable products in large organizations. Ideal candidates will have deep technical experience in Security Engineering and/or Secure Software Development with a demonstrated progression in leadership and management responsibilities.

You will be operating in a product-driven environment in a federated security model that spans multiple organizations and teams. You will be defining a 3-5 year vision for how we secure some of our most complex products and services, operating at a scale and pace that enable Meta to move quickly and responsibly with a Security-first mindset.Engineering Manager, X-Sec Security Engineering Responsibilities

• Be both a highly technical and an effective people manager for a team of 50-100 engineers, growing rapidly.
• Lead teams that deliver on multiple projects of increasing dependencies in an ambiguous or high-impact area.
• Possess leadership qualities to support and develop impactful managers and technical leaders.
• Work with your team and cross-functional partners to define a shared vision and influence strategy.
• Drive roadmap creation and execution for multiple product areas.
• Collaborate with various functions, drive engineering initiatives, and have an impact at Meta wide scale.
• Participate in technical design reviews with senior Technical Leads, Product Managers and Engineering Managers.
• Measure the impact of your teams and set clear expectations and goals.
• Work effectively with cross-functional partners and stakeholders to set and achieve optimal outcomes.
• Partner with leadership to influence and drive org design, contribution and prioritization.

Minimum Qualifications

• 10+ years of Security and/or software engineering work experience, including hands-on technical management in security systems, security software development in product-driven environments.
• Demonstrated experience in working across organizational boundaries to achieve enterprise impact.
• Demonstrated experience recruiting and managing managers and deeply technical teams, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Experience to work effectively in a federated security and product team environment is of critical importance as are the collaboration skills required.
• BA/BS in Computer Science, Computer engineering, Applied Mathematics (In lieu of degree, 4+ years software engineering work experience).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with Global engineering teams, across multiple time zones.
• Expertise in one or more Security domains, experience of Public Cloud and AI Security a significant plus.
• Experience working in regulated industries with direct experience of risk and compliance management.
