Job title: Assistant Manager

Salary: Starting at $74k - $90k a year, depending on experience

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am to 5pm

Location: Tualatin, Oregon

The Assistant Manager will be responsible for assisting the Manager in their day-to-day tasks and assist on administrative tasks such as training, discipline, hiring, and firing. The Assistant Manager will also be responsible for safety committee meetings and scheduling maintenance.

This position reports directly to Manager and works closely with the operations team. They interact daily with vendors, Drivers, and other internal and external customers.

Qualifications

  • 2 years of previous experience in a similar job
  • 2 years of management experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent GED
  • Knowledgeable in millworks and building materials
  • Maintain knowledge or all manufacturing processes and production equipment
  • Must be able to operate personal computer, smartphone, scanner, and any other equipment necessary for the job
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure that manufacturing processes run reliably and efficiently
  • Assist manager in their day-to-day tasks
  • Work with Production Manager and Manager on administrative tasks such as training, discipline, hiring, and firing
  • Work with Production Manager to help manage schedules and goals
  • Work with sales and office staff to maintain communication with goals and where jobs are on the schedule
  • Assist with updating monthly customer price lists
  • Periodically travel to other locations to learn new processes and see areas where we can improve
  • Participate in weekly sales meetings helping tie production, delivery, and sales together
  • Learn and manage evaluations for employees and work with employees to help them achieve goals and work on improvements discussed on reviews
  • Work with Manager to set goals financially and for individuals
  • Attend Safety Committee meetings
  • Schedule shop maintenance
  • Establish good morale in the shop and office as well as connecting the two as a team
  • Problem solve to establish solutions for more complex issues within the shop
  • Assist with monthly inventory
  • Assist Manager with customer relations issues
  • Manage the inventory purchasing and storage process
  • Ensure all necessary paperwork is completed
  • Understand and enforces company's policies and procedures
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

The working conditions include an office with a computer and regular work in manufacturing conditions.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds and carry objects 50 feet
  • Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Must be able to drive a company vehicle when necessary
  • Both local and overnight travel may be required
  • Ability to utilize all appropriate safety equipment
