Location: Washington, DC (Hybrid)
As a Senior Program Manager, You Will:
- Ensure continued alignment of the program goals and objectives to strategic objectives and the organization’s priorities
- Identify continuous improvement and help implement changes to the existing program management model
- Develop and manage program integrated master schedule and program risk register, and manages interdependencies between projects
- Work closely with project managers to obtain information on project status and risks, and assesses impact of changes at program level
- Mentor staff and manage contractors
- Perform Project Manager responsibilities, as needed, based on portfolio demand
- Define program milestones while working with business stakeholders, IT business partners, PMO staff, and technical managers to build program roadmap
- Report out on program and project status, including milestones and risks
- Ensure project management tool (i.e. MS Project, JIRA, and SharePoint) contains accurate and up to date project information
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and planning, including sprint demos, sprint planning, sprint refinements, and sprint retrospectives
- Participate in Scrum of Scrums meetings to prioritize and schedule IT’s portfolio of work
- Support Manager, Portfolio in prioritizing the enterprise portfolio based on project alignment with strategic priorities and delivery resource availability
- Maintain a strategic perspective of business drivers and technology capabilities
- Act as the liaison between project delivery teams, management, and business stakeholders while communicating through Scrum Masters and IT Business Partners
- Actively participate in the annual budgeting and portfolio development process, providing regular updates on scope, schedule, and resource plans, including deviations from planned allocations that are material to budgeting
To Be Successful, You Need:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required in Information Technology or a related field
- Direct experience as a program manager
- Minimum of 7+ years of experience with agile practices, patterns, and techniques
- Minimum of 7+ years of experience managing information technology projects
- Minimum of 7+ years of professional experience in an IT environment
- Demonstrated project management experience in an agile environment and ability to work on multiple priorities/project simultaneously without impact to quality of work
- Experience using both traditional waterfall and agile project management methodologies
- Demonstrated experience in task management, risk management, and scope management
- Ability to communicate about technical matters with business stakeholders and business matters with technical stakeholders
- Experience with delivery methodologies in a fast-paced, complex environment – i.e. Scrum, SAFe
- Experience with project management tools – i.e. MS Project, JIRA, and SharePoint
- Experience managing vendors/contractors
- Experience establishing and communicating best practices
- Experience with budget and cost management, as well as contract/procurement processes
- Willingness to travel to the Washington, DC office or other regional offices occasionally, as required
