Position Title: Product Developer /Product and Brand Services
Status: Full Time, Hourly, FLSA non-exempt
Location: On site Zumiez Home Office – Lynnwood, WA
Pay Range: $30-$35/ hour
Zumiez is seeking a Product Developer for the licensing division of our Product and Brand Services department. Primarily this role will work in collaboration with licensed product developers in a support role, to help with the execution of licensed product. Our ideal candidate has a proven background in Technical Design and Apparel design, who is a self-starter with a high level of detail, organization, and a passion for seeing a project from start to finish.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES
- Manage development through each aspect of tech pack, BOM creation, fit & development.
- Review and correct artwork strike offs, lab dips, and style specific trims based on tech pack and BOM
- Accurately understand and interpret design concepts from licensing partners, technical design, materials, and sourcing to effectively communicate with overseas vendors.
- Understand and accurately identify trend as it relates to Brand.
- Complete projects independently based on guidance from Product Development team
- Flexibility in supporting multiple brands, categories, and overlapping seasonal development.
- Attend design meetings, take notes and execute development cycle each season
- Prepare and track timely receipt of samples for photo-shoots, catalogue shoots, brand reference samples, marketing samples, etc.
- Proactively recognize timing issues to prevent delays or oversights.
- Meet established due dates based off multiple department calendars.
JOB REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
- 3-5 years experience in a product development environment with a proficient knowledge of technical design, design, and an understanding of graphic design. Experience developing accessories is a plus

- You have a solid understanding of the production cycle and time and action calendars
- Proficient level understanding of Microsoft Office, especially Outlook & Excel for Mac
- Proficient level understanding of Adobe Illustrator CC /Adobe Photoshop
- Understanding of fabric characteristics, and ability to distinguish between different knit and weave types.
- Experience with branding and the ability to adhere to established brand guidelines
- College degree or equivalent with course work in design, technical design/patternmaking/ apparel manufacturing or related experience
- Experience working/communicating with overseas factories or agents
- Effective, Consistent, Clear Communication with all levels
- Ability to take initiative and identify priorities to maintain deadlines are achieved.
- Ability and willingness to work hard in a fast -paced, multi-tasking, team-oriented environment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Ability to sit/stand in a stationary position in an office environment for extended periods and work on a Mac or PC without limitations.
- Must be able to distinguish colors and inspect the material on the product.
- Work environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work in an office environment. The noise level is generally moderate.
