As a member of the Heat Transfer & Energy Solutions Group you will report to the Director of Sales & Marketing - Engine Cooling. You will Develop, analyze, optimize, and perform the application engineering thermal design of cooling system solutions for heavy-duty diesel & gas engine, battery, and fuel cell applications, with global OEM & dealer/distributor customers in the Power Generation, Oil and gas, Rail, Mining and Marine Markets.

What do we want to know about you?

• Master of Science in Engineering (or equivalent for regions outside of US).
• Minimum of 15 years of heat transfer development, analysis, and validation of new cooling components and systems, including CFD, FEA, & Six Sigma tools.
• Minimum of 15 years of OEM heat transfer application engineering and technical sales experience, within the Power Generation, Oil & Gas, Rail, Mining, or Marine markets.
• Strong English communication skills (oral & written) with an aptitude for building relationships at all organizational levels.
• Minimal travel (Domestic and International) to Wabtec facilities, customer facilities, tradeshows, conferences, and job sites.
• Working knowledge and interest in mechanical & electrical equipment, particularly heavy-duty equipment utilizing diesel & gas engines, batteries, and fuel cells.
• Strong organizational and Microsoft Office computer skills.

What will your typical day look like?

• Collaborate with Wabtec Sales, Engineering, and manufacturing team members to develop new heat transfer product technologies and application sizing software.
• Identify and propose optimum cooling system solutions based on customer’s technical and application requirements using thermal sizing design software.

• Create commercial and technical proposals for Customers and Sales Account Managers.
• Develop product documentation such as specification sheets, technical manuals, marketing materials, and presentation materials and support ongoing thermal sizing software initiatives to support sales.

• Provide technical support for Sales Account Managers with OEM Sales opportunities and for Manufacturer’s Representatives with dealer/distributor sales opportunities, including obtaining and understanding customer requirements.
• Collaborate with Product Engineering to provide details needed to translate optimal cooling system solutions into final production designs through the principles and processes of the Product / Application Development System.
• Analyze and evaluate performance testing data for product validation and identify performance improvement and potential cost reduction opportunities.
• Remain current with industry trends, product applications, market activities, and competitive products.

While this position is remote, it may include occasional work at a Wabtec office/site or attendance at offsites, as agreed to with your manager.

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The salary range for this role is between $83,500 - $154,500. The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands, and work location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role is also eligible for a performance bonus.
