We are seeking a Senior Manager for Maps and Navigation in ADAS/Autonomous Driving. This position requires an experienced manager with strong background in novel mapping and localization algorithms. Our ideal candidate exhibits a can-do attitude and approaches their work with vigor and determination. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate excellence in their respective fields, to possess the ability to learn quickly, and to strive for perfection.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Work in a world-class Autonomous Driving and ADAS team
  • Lead a team of engineers working on Maps and Navigation systems
  • Act in Engineering Management capacity to support and enhance ADAS Autonomous Driving architecture and identify how SD/HD map attributes can be used by downstream AD modules like Localization, Motion Planning and Control, Perception and Data pipelines
  • Contribute to and enhance the SD/HD map’s strategy, & software rollout plan
  • Contribute to the system requirements and identify performance metrics for individual components.
  • Come up with strategies to make the system safe using maps, like geofencing, defining ODDs for each feature, and ensuring the quality and coverage of the maps pertaining to the feature that is being rolled out
  • Work closely with other teams to ensure a seamless and robust implementation and deployment of mapping and navigation products for ADAS.
  • Work with automotive maps suppliers, write specifications, Statement of Work and manage projects/releases, and take care of change management.
  • Build and extend software testing infrastructure to support development.
  • Support the production validation and verification of the map and navigation pipeline.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor in the areas of Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering,
  • 8+ years of work experience in a related industry
  • Knowledge of end-to-end AD/ADAS architecture including functional safety elements
  • Experience in component and system integration, testing, and verification on system and vehicle level.
  • Knowledge of applicable safety standards and regulations (ASPICE, ISO 26262), benchmark, and customer requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s in the areas of Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering
  • 8+ years of work experience in a related industry or a PhD with 3 years’ experience
Salary Range: The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.  California (Bay Area) - $165,000 • $215,000 per year Additional Compensation and Benefits:

The successful candidate may also be eligible to participate in Lucid's equity program and/or a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing such programs.
