Job Description

Your challenge

Work with a dynamic and collaborative team of Electrical, Mechanical, Firmware, Test Engineers and Architects to develop new diagnostic-grade wearable medical devices for remote patient monitoring.

You are responsible for

• Designing, developing, and debugging firmware for embedded processors, microcontrollers, digital signal processors, and other electronic components or circuits using assembly, C, and/or C++ programming languages.
• Managing the transition of products from the development stage to full-scale production and ensuring that products are delivered to market on time and on budget.
• Creating software requirements specifications, software architecture documents, and detailed software design documents based on electrical schematics of the embedded hardware platform.

The Senior Firmware Architect position provides the successful candidate with an immediate opportunity to be involved with technology that helps save lives, improve patient outcomes, and reduce the cost of medicine around the world.

To succeed in this role, you’ll need a customer-first attitude and the following:

• Bachelor’s in Computer or Electrical Engineering (advanced degree preferred).
• 10+ years of firmware development experience in an FDA regulated environment.
• Expert level programming skills in C and C++ for real time environments.
• Experience developing software in various RTOS environments (e.g. FreeRTOS, AzureRTOS, Embedded Linux).
• US work authorization is a precondition of employment. The company will not consider candidates who require sponsorship for a work-authorized visa, now or in the future.
• This is a hybrid, role and only candidates living in the San Diego, CA area will be considered.

Philips Transparency Details:

The pay range for this position is $120,000- $220,00.00 annually.  The actual base pay offered may vary depending on multiple factors including, job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.  

In addition, other compensation, such as an annual incentive bonus, sales commission or long-term incentives may be offered.  Employees are eligible to participate in our comprehensive Philips Total Rewards benefits program, which includes a generous PTO, 401k (up to 7% match), HSA (with company contribution), stock purchase plan, education reimbursement and much more.  Details about our benefits can be found here.
