The opportunity
We currently have an opportunity for an Business Operations Analyst to join our Finance team in our Plymouth, MN on a hybrid schedule. The Operations Business Analyst plays a key role in supporting finance system projects and operational processes. This role will be responsible for gathering business requirements, executing test cases, ensuring successful delivery of projects, and providing ongoing post implementation support.

They should be strategic thinkers who can bridge business needs and technical solutions. Successful candidates thrive in dynamic environments, managing multiple projects and priorities while focusing on continuous process improvement. Some of the Business Operations Analyst responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Collaborate with project team in project planning from requirements through design, testing, implementation, and maintenance; with accountability for specific deliverables as needed.
- Translate business needs into detailed process flows, user stories, and business requirement documentation for the development team.
- Planning, developing and executing routine test cases and validating results during all phases of testing. Identifies and recommends improvements when appropriate.
- Develop an understanding of system interdependencies (policy administration, general ledger, portal, etc.) to ensure compatibility across platforms.
- Maintain and update project documentation, procedures, training materials, and user guides.
- Work with the QA team to translate use cases into automated test scenarios
- Builds strong relationships between Financial Systems and the Information Technology team in support of Finance Business Owners’ objectives. Provides input to help prioritize financial system projects.
- Support the team by triaging, documenting, and testing issues, and assisting with defect prioritization during sprint planning.
- Provide ongoing production support to business partners, including system administration tasks, responding to incoming requests, performing operational health checks, and data integrity reviews within defined SLAs.
- Support and/or lead multiple initiatives across multiple departments and/or lines of business.
The expertise you bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of relevant experience (internships included), ideally with an accounting concentration or degree.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles, including debits, credits, and financial statement presentation.
- Interest in financial systems, data integrity, and process improvement.
- Enjoys analyzing and improving process flows; brings a continuous improvement mindset.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational skills, and ability to work both independently and collaboratively across team.
- Experience with testing methodologies and project lifecycle management.
- Proficient in Windows applications; experience with ERPs (e.g., PeopleSoft) and reporting tools preferred.
Our salary ranges are determined by many factors including location, role, experience and skillset of the candidate. The following ranges displayed reflect the target base salary for new hires; however, your recruiter will provide more specific compensation details during the hiring process. The typical base salary range for this position is: $66,000 – $93,000, based on the factors aforementioned.
