ABOUT THE ROLE
The Welding Intern supports fabrication and welding operations while gaining hands-on experience in a production environment. This role assists with cutting, bending, and assembling metal components under the guidance of experienced welders. The intern will develop technical skills, learn safety practices, and build a foundational understanding of welding and fabrication processes.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Assist welders and fabricators with fitting, aligning, and welding components
- Support moving materials using hoists, cranes, or manual handling (under supervision)
- Help read and interpret blueprints and layout specifications
- Perform basic welds and tack welds with guidance
- Use measuring tools to verify dimensions and ensure accuracy
- Assist with grinding, cutting, beveling, and surface preparation
- Support setup and operation of fabrication equipment (brakes, shears, grinders, etc.)
- Help mark and prepare materials for cutting and bending
- Assist with lifting, positioning, and aligning parts for assembly
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

The ideal candidate is motivated to learn and build a career in welding or fabrication. They are detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and comfortable working in a hands-on shop environment. This individual takes direction well, shows initiative, and is eager to develop technical skills through on-the-job training.
IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE
- Currently enrolled in or recently completed a welding/fabrication program
- Basic understanding of welding and fabrication processes
- Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints (with guidance)
