Senior Principal Scientist--Proteomics and Systems Biology
PfizerAbout the role
WHY PATIENTS NEED YOU
At Pfizer we deliver breakthroughs that change patients’ lives. The Systems Biology team plays a vital role in this mission through the identification of therapeutic targets, drug mechanisms-of-actions, and biomarkers. We are dedicated to the development of oncology agents that disrupt cancer biology or redirect the immune system against cancer cells, and we leverage established drug discovery platforms in antibody drug conjugates (ADC), small-molecules, and bispecifics. To discover the next-generation of therapeutics, we are seeking scientific leaders with expertise in proteomics.
POSITION SUMMARY
You and your research team will drive a deeper understanding of tumor-associated antigens, ADCs including novel payloads, and immune engagers. Relevant proteomic methodologies include high throughput mass spectrometry, data-independent acquisition (DIA), small-molecule target engagement, and profiling protein abundance, turnover, and interactomes.
You will represent the Systems Biology group on research and drug discovery teams, and will work closely with line leads in target validation, chemical biology, drug design, and biology groups to innovate and develop first-in-class oncology therapies.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead a proteomics team including identifying and prioritizing projects, developing new technologies, and mentoring junior colleagues.
Drive innovation in all aspects of laboratory operations including mass spec technology evaluation, proteomic software evaluation, development of quantitative sample preparation methods and peptide separation methods, data analysis and interpretation.
Actively contribute to project teams, department operations, and drug discovery and translational strategy.
Enhance the external reputation of Pfizer’s Systems Biology through establish research collaborations, presenting at conferences, and contributing publications.
