ROLE OVERVIEW: The Production Supervisor is responsible for front line supervision of production and support employees (10 or more) in the safe, efficient, compliant, and cost-effective manufacture of high-quality industrial packaging production at a plant producing spiral-wound paper tubes & cores.  Ensures a safe, productive, and efficient working environment while striving for continuous improvements in order to meet company objectives.  This is an evening shift position, with typical weekly work schedule being Monday through Thursday evenings, supervising a weekly shift consisting of 4-days at 10 hours per day.  Additional hours may be required per plant operating needs and some travel <10% may be required.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervises the day-to-day activities of a complex multi-line production operation and monitors colleague productivity.
• Effectively implements new performance management systems, production plans and performance criteria. Runs shift meetings, confirms production progress, and responds to delays.
• Creates and implements group improvement plans.
• Ensures team understands roles and responsibilities as it relates to the team and to Greif.
• Encourages joint problem solving, personal safety, and individual development.
• Supports Greif mission, follows values of Greif, and works to better Greif’s businesses overall.
• Implements and enforces compliance with applicable safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Arranges work schedules to ensure efficient operations and communicates changes with all team members involved.
• Maintains knowledge of processes and equipment.
• Troubleshoots complex or advanced issues that arise leveraging resources available, including process and equipment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

• Must possess a high school diploma (or equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience, with previous front line supervisory experience.
• Holding a 4-year degree or 2-year degree in a related field of study (business, engineering, or related) is a plus.

Knowledge and Skills

• In-depth understanding of production operation and processes.
• Demonstrated supervisory and leadership skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Demonstrated time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Experience with ERP systems and other business software (HRIS, safety related, compliance related, etc.) is a plus.

Compensation Range:

The pay range for this position is $62,200.00 - $110,900.00. Typically, a competitive wage for new hires will fall between $70,000.00 to $80,000.00. Offers for this position may vary based on market data and other factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location. The position may also be eligible for a short-term incentive.
