Job Description

As a Security Professional - Retail Mall Patrols in San Jose, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more.

As a Patrol Unarmed Officer at a leading retail and mall location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help to deter security-related incidents and create a welcoming environment for visitors and tenants. You will conduct routine patrols, remain highly visible, and deliver exceptional customer service through positive communication and support. This is a driving post, so you will be responsible for safely operating a vehicle as part of your patrol duties. What You’ll Do:

• Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
• Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
• Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
• Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
• Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to clients, guests, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, as well as responding to emergency situations when appropriate.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining professionalism at all times.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the mall and surrounding areas to help to deter unwanted activity and identify potential concerns.
• Observe and report any suspicious behavior, hazards, or maintenance issues encountered during patrols around the location.
• Assist with access control, crowd management, and/or wayfinding as needed throughout the retail environment.
• Collaborate with local law enforcement or emergency responders as directed in the event of an incident.
• Complete detailed and accurate reports of daily activities, incidents, and/or irregularities encountered during assigned shifts.

Minimum Requirements:

• Lifting up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• Possession of a valid Guard Card or security-related license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A valid driver's license in the state where the job is located is required, and candidates must meet Allied Universal driver policy requirements for driving positions only.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 plus years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
