Job summary:
The Iron Technician I provides assembly and testing of various mechanical components.
Pay: Pay will start at $20.85/hour and can be adjusted based on experience.
Schedule: Monday-Friday 6am-4:30pm with opportunity for overtime as business demands.
What you will do:
- At SPM Oil & Gas, our primary objective is to provide our customers with excellent engineering solutions through our products and superior customer service
- Process incoming iron starts to finish. Able to accept equipment from delivery, recertify equipment, load equipment for delivery, complete all associate paperwork, perform quality check, and manage inventory (without supervision)
- Understand customer requirements throughout the entire refurbishment of flow control product to produce high quality product
- Clean, strip and inspect all required flow control components
- Prepare flow control products for Gauging, Ultra Sonic, and MPI inspections
- Disassemble of flow control products per Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)
- Provides proper care and maintenance of all shop tools, equipment, and work area
- Exhibit and always advocate exemplary safety culture
- Perform additional duties as assigned
What you will have:
- Ability to operate hand tools such as pneumatic tooling
- Possess a sound Mechanical Aptitude
- Demonstrate consistency, accountability, reliability, and solid work ethic
What Top Candidates will have:
- Three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Working knowledge of oil and gas equipment
Physical Demands:
- Frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear
- Required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Consistently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
- Must be able to wear protective footwear and other Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by the department
Work Environment:
- Regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles
- Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions
- Occasionally exposed to high, precarious places and vibration
- Noise Level: Moderate
