Spec Accounts Payable

GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform day to day full-cycle accounts payable transactions to ensure accurate and timely payment processing
• Ensure three-way matching of purchase order, receipt, and invoice in order to accurately pay vendor obligations
• Research billing and matching discrepancies 
• Ensure proper discounts are taken
• Verify transactions comply with accounting policies and procedures
• Reconcile vendor statements and respond to all vendor inquires
• Maintains all accounts payable reports, spreadsheets and corporate accounts payable files
• Assists in monthly closings
• Administrative duties and other duties as assigned
• Understand and adhere to internal controls
• Other duties as assigned

 

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Knowledge of EDI and three-way match preferred
• Able to understand and follow verbal and written instructions with minimal supervision
• Strong analytical/problem solving, communication, organization, and initiative skills
• Able to multitask and detailed-oriented
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment where the ability to prioritize is key and teamwork is a must
• Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to get along with diverse personalities; tactful, mature and flexibility are required traits
• Working knowledge of MS Excel required, intermediate level skills a plus
• Must maintain good attendance
• Must maintain safe work practices
• Typing and 10 key skills required
• Must be able to work flexible hours and overtime as needed

 

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• High School Diploma required
• 2-year Accounts Payable experience or equivalent Data Entry experience
