Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Space, Intelligence, and Weapon Systems (SI&WS) Precision Engagement Systems (PES) has an exciting opportunity for a Flight Engineering Senior Manager in Saint Charles, MO, with a focus on the Cruise Missile Systems (CMS) product domain.  This position will also offer opportunities for leadership across the Flight Engineering disciplines including Propulsion as well as Guidance & Control and Aerodynamics, applied to the range of PES and SI&WS products.

SI&WS Precision Engagement Systems is a growing weapons business with multiple ongoing and development programs serving the US military and international customers. This leader will be part of the larger Flight Systems Engineering Capability management group residing in the Precision Engagement Systems organization and will manage a multi-disciplinary technical team of Flight engineers in the design, development, demonstration, integration, and fielding of weapon systems for a variety of domestic and international customers.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manages employees performing engineering and technical activities in the areas of Flight Engineering including Propulsion, Guidance & Control and/or Aerodynamics

  • Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures, and sets operational goals

  • Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers, and leads process improvements

  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct reports

  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products, and processes

  • Manages, develops, and motivates employees

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

  • 5+ years of experience working directly in the Flight Engineering discipline (e.g., Propulsion, Flight Controls, Aerodynamics, or the Boeing specific occupation code “6E”)

  • Experience with design, development, test, or operation of Aerospace Vehicles or subsystems/units

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Advanced Engineering, Math, or Physics degree

  • Related technical experience in Guidance & Control, Aerodynamics, or Propulsion

  • Experience with Earned Value Management, managing suppliers, air-launched weapons, ground-launched weapons, managing complex technical development activities, and exposure to systems engineering requirements derivation and validation
