Summary

The primary job function is to identify and develop various grant opportunities while creating collaborative relationships with nonprofit organizations across the Valley that support SRP’s community focused strategy. Through collaboration, leads strategic planning of a defined portfolio of community partnerships that align with SRP’s corporate contributions’ giving priorities.  The position is responsible for developing and continuously advancing SRP’s community giving strategy, ensuring nonprofit funding is in alignment with SRP’s corporate objectives, strengthening the SRP brand and advancing the strategic direction of the organization. 

What You'll Do

  • Provide oversight for and distribution of Corporate Contributions budget to maximize community impact. 
  • Manage nonprofit grant evaluation and maintain relationships with nonprofit partners. 
  • Identify and establish relationships with Arizona nonprofits to support their efforts through grants, sponsorships, and volunteer opportunities. 
  • Ensure continuous strategic partnership optimization based local corporate philanthropy best practices.  
  • Utilize CyberGrants/Bonterra (community giving portal) to manage and review grant intake and award funds. 
  • Manage a portion of Employee Board Service Program in alignment to the managed portfolio.  
  • Collaborate on the development of strategic contracts inclusive of grants, to maximize value for SRP, strengthen relationships, foster community impact, promote products and services, and/or increase brand visibility. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional team to develop messaging and materials that highlight contribution efforts. 
  • Participate in departmental quarterly planning sessions to ensure cross-functional visibility. 
     

What It Takes To Succeed

  • Demonstrated skills, knowledge and experience in grants evaluation, community outreach, project management, and project evaluation.  
  • Demonstrated success in establishing relationships with nonprofits that meet set focus/criteria and establishing a support strategy with partners.  
  • Ability to perform under pressure, manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines while maintaining strong attention to detail.  
  • Experience in corporate social responsibility, philanthropy, community relations, or a related discipline is highly desired. 
  • Working knowledge of the utility industry is preferred.  
  • Preference given to academic or professional certification through Boston College Center for Corporate Citizenship or Public Relations Society of America. 

Experience

Requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar or related discipline that prepares an individual to perform the stated job duties for the senior level.  

Education

Completion of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution that prepares the employee for the assignment.
