Job Summary

The Senior RF Systems Engineer will possess a working understanding of 4G & 5G Cellular Systems, cross-functional teamwork, and good communication skills. Required are good communications skills for interfacing with product development, test, process, and internal marketing teams. The Senior RF Systems Engineer will help define the future of RF Front-End market by assessing architecture and component options, setting device specifications & validation requirements, and help guide our customers towards our vision of the future.

 

The Senior RF Systems Engineer will be an experienced RF and Analog/Mixed Signal hardware engineer who is adept at system design supporting of Mobile Wireless Communications, Wireless Infrastructure, Wi-Fi, and Broadband Communications. In this position, the Senior RF Systems Engineer will help define new product specifications and guide technology planning to support the growth of the business. Key functional responsibilities will include: System architecture analyses, RF link budgets, product performance requirements, digital control system definition, and detailed RF performance measurements. Having experience with RFIC design techniques and fundamentals of CMOS and RF technologies is also required.

 

Roles & Responsibilities

This position has responsibility for:

  • Define and document complete radio architecture definitions that expand pSemi’s core competencies and technologies
  • Provide definition and assessments of architectures, RF Front Ends, RF/AMS ICs, digital control systems and interfaces, and any supporting algorithms
  • Identify technical core competencies and functional capability that need to be developed to make product lines successful
  • Support marketing and design engineering with insights concerning technical requirements of wireless markets and industry standards
  • Conduct system and sub-system analyses to define functionality and specification requirements of highly integrated products
  • Technical interface with customer engineering teams and system architects
  • Support IP generation activities and develop and apply novel concepts
  • Assist in defining requirements of automated test equipment

Minimum Qualifications (Experience and Skills)

  • Typically requires 3-5 years work experience in RF systems and applications engineering depending on education level and experience
  • Ability to maintain technical expertise/competence with the ever-changing technology and dynamic industry landscape
  • Working understanding of 3GPP mobile wireless RF requirements
  • Knowledge of wireless architectures and considerations including distributed antenna architectures, high efficiency PA architectures,
