Summary: 

 

The Terminal Op Mgr - Central coordinates the administration, maintenance, and management of all terminal operations and personnel in a safe and cost-efficient manner.

 

What you’ll be contributing: 

 

  • Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines. 
  • Directs and manages the Midwest cement terminals, including annual goal setting, reviews, and staffing
  • Coordinates terminal maintenance with the support of plants and outside contractors
  • Manages logistics of cement supply to and from the terminals
  • Establishes terminal budgets and manages terminal projects with assistance from Manufacturing
  • Manages expansion of existing terminals and siting of new terminals
  • Coordinates cement terminal human resource, safety, and environmental activities
  • Establishes an annual operating budget and monitors results
  • Makes regular field visits to all plants, terminals, and offices to observe practices, establish local guidelines, and help with local traffic-related problems.
  • Works closely with Terminal Managers and Plant management on transportation matters related to securing adequate terminal inventories of cement.
  • Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

 

To succeed in this position, you will need: 

 

  • Ability to read, write, and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, etc.
  •  Minimum High School Diploma or GED
  • 2 Year - Associate's Degree in business, management or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience as terminal and plant management.
  • Ability to effectively coach and deliver constructive feedback
  • Ability to lead, direct and manage organizations, programs, and people
  • Ability to manage, lead, direct and supervise staff toward meeting an organization's objectives and programs
  • Ability to work in conjunction with and collaborate with others
  • Ability to work with a high level of accuracy, even under pressure
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects in parallel to the conclusion
  • Ability to make decisions and solve problems with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with clients
  • Works under general supervision with specified directives, policies, and procedures
  • Ability to refer to the manager when faced with unusual problems
